If you're here, you obviously care about my music tastes, so listen up!
The Fountains of Wayne CD, their self-titled debut album, is one of the
best CD's that came out last year. I can listen to just about the
whole thing,
and with tracks like Radiation
Vibe, Sink to the Bottom, Please
Don't Rock
Me Tonight, and Leave
the Biker, this was a great buy.
On the other hand, we have the Third Eye Blind also self-titled debut
album. They sound all right, but they did score a real hit with Semi-Charmed
Life which has become one of my
favorite songs. Graduate
is of course
getting some airplay, and Jumper
is all right.
Ah, Jawbreaker. I own the 4th and last album of this now defunct band.
Entitled 'Dear You', most of it is not mainstream music, and only one track
has played more than a handful of times. This is of course Fireman.
However,
my favorite off the CD would have to be Accident
Prone, but it's probably
a little too "alternative" for most people. Also check out Jet
Black.
Matchbox 20's debut album 'yourself or someone like you' is a decent
album, but only two songs really jump out at you. Receiving extensive
airplay right now is Push, but
before that Longday was released.
Finally, we have the Eels album. Very seldom does an album come along
where I find myself able to listen to the whole thing. This album is not one of
those. However, almost all of the tracks are great. This is
one of the other
best CD's that came out last year. Novocaine
for the Soul is the only one
that got played much, but Rags to Rags,
Your Lucky Day in Hell, and Mental
are also very cool songs.
